Cheese Scones


  • 200g self raising flour
  • 5g baking powder
  • 30g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 35g cheddar cheese
  • 100ml milk


​Heat oven to 220C.

Mix together the flour and butter.

Stir in the cheese and then the milk to form a soft dough.

Turn onto a floured work surface and knead very lightly. Use a 5cm/2in cutter to stamp out rounds and place on the baking sheet.

Brush the scones with a little milk and bake for 12-15 minutes until well risen and golden.
